2 Corinthians 6:18

We get our first identity from our fathers.  That last name they put on our crib in the hospital and that name they call out in gym class comes from our father.  It has been said that Dads are a young man’s first hero and a young girl’s first love.  This morning we will talk about dads.

Based on scripture, Godly fathers are providers, spiritual leaders, and they make sure that children are raised in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

This morning we will use 3 extremely familiar passages of scripture to talk about a few more relational aspects of the role of a father.  We will see:

1. How a father validates a child
2. How a father shares wisdom with a child
3. How a father has an unwavering love for a child

In so doing, I hope to speak to us all.

If you are blessed to have your father in your life right now, I want to encourage you to be thankful for him.

If you are a father, I want to encourage you to be the best father you can be.

If you lost your father or if you never really knew him, I want to share something special with you about our God.
